Description

A complete guidebook for hiking the GR®34

This guidebook accompanies hikers on a superb section of the GR®34, between Morlaix and Douarnenez. Also known as the Customs Officers' Path, this route follows one of the most spectacular coastlines in Brittany.

The trail crosses the Abers, the Pays d'Iroise, and the Crozon peninsula. It offers the opportunity to discover dramatic seascapes, reefs, rocky headlands, lighthouses, harbors, and charming Breton villages.

The guidebook covers more than 40 days of hiking. It includes the GR®34, as well as three complementary GR® de Pays trails. You can therefore plan a long-distance trek or choose only certain sections depending on your available time.

Four routes in one guide

This FFRandonnée guidebook combines four routes in a single volume: the GR®34, the Morlaix Loop, the Iroise Loop, and the Crozon Peninsula Loop.

From Morlaix to Brest, the trail follows a rugged coastline, marked by islets, reefs, and coves. Then, the lighthouse trail allows you to discover the coastline between Roscoff and the Brest harbor.

Finally, the Crozon Peninsula offers nearly 120 km of coastline, between cliffs, headlands, and panoramic views of the ocean.

Along the way, hikers walk alongside the Armorique Regional Natural Park. They also skirt the Iroise Marine Natural Park and approach the Monts d'Arrée. The route ends in Douarnenez, a port city deeply connected to the history of sardine fishing.

A reliable guide for planning your hiking trip

Like other FFRandonnée guidebooks, this book provides clear and precise information. Each route is described with maps, detailed routes, elevation profiles, waypoints, and practical information.

In addition, a nature section enhances the reading experience. It focuses particularly on wildlife conservation and seabird observation. This is a real plus for hiking in Brittany while respecting the natural environments you traverse.

This guide is therefore suitable for hikers planning a trip on the GR®34. It is also ideal for those looking for multi-day hikes in Finistère, between the Abers, Iroise, Crozon, and Douarnenez.
