Hike in the Jura on the GR5 via the GTJ

This FFRP guide retraces more than 20 days of hiking on the Grande Traversée du Jura, a route shared by the GR5 and GR9. It's an opportunity to hike in the Doubs Gorges, the Haut-Jura Regional Natural Park, and the Retord Plateau before reaching the gateway to the Alps and Lake Geneva. The routes described are as follows:

  • Grande Traversée du Jura (GR5), from Mandeure to Culoz: 406 km
  • Access to the GTJ via the GR5: 38 km
  • Variant of the GR5 via Chaux-neuve: 20 km
  • Variant via the GR9, from Côtes de Mijoux to La Loge: 15.5 km
  • Variant via the GR de Pays, from La Borne au Lion to La Charnay: 37.5 km
