Description

Long-distance cycling route between Ouistreham and La Rochelle

The Vélofrancette is a cycle route of approximately 600 km that connects the Normandy coast to the Atlantic, from Ouistreham to La Rochelle. Along its route, it passes through historic towns (Caen, Angers, Saumur) and varied landscapes, including rolling countryside, majestic rivers, and picturesque valleys. Enhanced with small roads and greenways, the Vélofrancette is suitable for families and experienced cyclists alike, with numerous points of interest for a break: gourmet tastings, charming villages, and World Heritage sites. This route invites you to take your time and discover the French way of life by cycling along the water and through unspoiled countryside.

The Vélofrancette was voted the 2017 cycle route by a Dutch association. And for good reason: the route is exceptional and accessible to all.
