Description
Touring Brittany by bike and on foot
Taking the Tro Breiz trail is a unique pilgrimage experience: the sanctity lies not in the final destination, but in the route itself. Walkers explore a loop that takes them through the bishoprics of Brittany's seven founding saints: Dol-de-Bretagne, Vannes, Quimper, Saint-Pol-de-Léon, Tréguier, Saint-Brieuc and Saint-Malo.
In the Middle Ages, the "pilgrimage of the seven saints" took place over the course of a month. Although it fell into disuse in the 17th century, it re-emerged in the 1990s. Whether it's for the passion of walking, the discovery of heritage, or spiritual motivations, the journey promises to be rewarding.
A Lepère guide is distinguished by :
- Validation of the route, travelled on foot
- The experience of seasoned walkers with 20 years' combined experience.
To help you undertake this loop with peace of mind, the guide offers a detailed description of the route, a presentation of the stages, 1:50,000 scale topographical maps, maps of the main towns, a list of accommodation, as well as cultural and historical information.
